Buy Sell A Business
respects each individual's right to personal privacy, and we are committed to
protecting your privacy. Therefore, we provide this Privacy Policy notice to
explain our online information practices and the choices you can make about the

privacy is important to us. We understand that this is a normal part of treating
your information with confidentiality when buying and selling businesses, Buy
Sell A Business strives to collect basic information from our users. However,
for some of our services, such as placing ads, making replies, etc, we may need
to collect additional personally identifiable information from you in order to
deliver these services to enable others to reply to your postings. Various types
of personal information collected are described in the sections below.
We may disclose and
use personally identifiable information in special circumstances when we
believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply
with law or court order, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user
agreements, or (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of Buy Sell A
Business, our users, or others.
Note: A
primary purpose of Buy Sell A Business is to provide publicly searchable
databases of classified ads for business listings. Therefore, much of
information submitted by you to these services is done so with the intent that
we make the information public knowledge. Therefore, we identify your personal
information through your email address and credit card information. We strive to
keep this information confidential, as described in this Privacy Policy.
However, users have the option of disclosing their email address in the text of
their postings if they desire.
Business-For-Sale
Ad Order Form
We request information from you when you fill out our advertising posting form.
You must provide a valid email address so that you can receive inquiries to your
ad, as well as email correspondence from Buy Sell A Business regarding the
status of your ad. You must also provide your credit card number and expiration
date to enable us to charge the card for the ad fee. Your email address and
credit card information remain confidential and will not be distributed to any
third parties, except as necessary to process the charge for the advertised
listing, and to verify the sale/transaction.
We also collect
information regarding the details of your business for sale. All of the
information posted will be publicly disclosed with the exception of your email
address and password.
Listings-By-Email
If you wish to
subscribe to our Business Listings by Email service, we ask for the email
address to which you want the new listings delivered and for brief information
regarding the types of listings you are interested in receiving. Your email
address always remains private and is not sold or supplied to any third parties.
Buy Sell A Business
does permit its broker members to review our database of the types of listings
that are currently sought, and if your Listings-By-Email request matches their
criteria, the broker member is able to contact you through our email system. You
may at any time, however, opt to not have your listings preferences disclosed to
Buy Sell A Business broker members by checking the E-mail Listings box in your
account login page or notifying us via e-mail.
To unsubscribe from
our Business Listings by Email, go to your account login page and click on the
“"Cancel Notification" link. NOTE: (We also provide a link to this page at the
bottom of every email we send to you.) After entering your email address and
clicking the Cancel button, you will be unsubscribed from our E-mail Listing
notifications.
Replying to an Ad
When you reply to any of the postings on Buy Sell A Business through our reply
forms, your reply is sent through our servers to the intended party. We do not
sell or distribute to any outside party, any of the information submitted in the
reply form.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on a user's computer hard
drive to be a unique identifier for that user.
We might from time
to time use third-party advertising companies to serve ads
when you visit our Web site. The third-party advertising technology that we use
on this Web site uses information derived from your visits to this site to
target advertising within this site. In addition, our advertisers may use other
third-party advertising technology to target advertising on this site and other
sites. In the course of advertisements being served to you, a unique
third-party cookie or cookies may be placed in your browser.
Data Security

information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and

When our ad posting
form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number,
etc.), that information is encrypted and is protected with the most accepted web
encryption protocol in the industry - SSL. Your credit card and other
information cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system.
While we use SSL
encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our
power to protect your information.
Accessing Your Information
You can access any
information in your posting by going to the member area of the site where you
submitted the information, and follow the instructions to view, change or delete
the information. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take
reasonable steps through means such as passwords to verify your identity before
granting access or making any corrections.
If you select the
option to delete your posting, it is immediately deleted upon clicking the
button to confirm that you do indeed wish to delete it. If you select the option
to edit your posting, the changes you request are first reviewed by our
processing center, and may take up to two business days to appear in the ad
online.
Website Service Updates
We send
business-for-sale advertisers a welcoming email to verify the email address used
in the ad, and to notify the user that their ad is now available online and
their credit card has been charged. On occasions, we may also send site and
service announcement updates. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service
announcements, which contain important information about the service. We
communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues
relating to their account via email or phone.
